Everything Christmas!

St. John's is a great place to be around Christmas. There's so much going on! I'm glad I get to teach at a school that embraces this time of year and lets us enjoy the holiday. We have been busy building snowmen out of marshmallows, decorating gingerbread houses, creating ornaments out of paper, singing, and partying. Check out the pictures below. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and a happy New Year!

Halloween!

We've been so busy in fifth grade, that we haven't had time to blog! In writing, we finished up our haunted house pictures. Check them out with Aurasma! We added radio commercials to each of the houses. Simply, hold your device over the gray paper and listen to our wonderful ads! We also finished up our first novel study. We are moving on to historical fiction next. Halloween was a blast! Thank you so much to all the parents who organized our party. We had so much fun dressing up as mummies, having relay races, and eating delicious treats. Check out all the pictures below.

In math we had to follow clues to figure out who the candy thief was. We solved multiplication problems to identify the culprit!

We used transformations of our names in order to create a name skeleton. This is Lilly's.
This is Connor's name skeleton!
Now for the party pictures!

This is Behind The Scenes With 5th Grade telling you about this week. Today we are going to do survival day! We are excited to have it because we just finished novels with the theme of survival. The fifth grade had to bring in sticks and leafs and fruits so we could have it.
